Sachin to unveil Durgarpur's Portrait at CCI

Sachin Tendulkar will unveil the portrait of late cricketer-turned-administrator Raj Singh Dungarpur at the entrance lobby of the Cricket Club of India on March 24.

Durgarpur was a former president of BCCI. He played 16 years of cricket for India and served for more than 20 years in board. He was also president of CCI Mumbai for 16 years. As the then chief selector, played a big role in the induction of the champion batsman in the Indian team for the 1989 tour of Pakistan as a 16-year-old boy. He played a key role in changing the board rules to include sachin into the Indian team. He passed away last august by the time Sachin was not in India, after returning former's condolence meeting on the lawns of the Brabourne Stadium and paid a momentous tribute to him.
